Happy Birthday Karson!!

Today was my son Karson's 8th Birthday. I think he had a really good day. His Dad fixed him breakfast and then we went and saw Puss in Boots and went to Godfather's Pizza!! After all that we can home and had cake and ice cream and opened presents!

He LOVES Thomas the Train and has since he was very little. So this is the card I made him this year. I am happy to report, he loved it!!

Everything used on this card has been in my stash for YEARS!! And I forgot to take a picture before we all signed it...Oops!! =0)

A Birthday Card for my Grandpa...

My Grandpa turned 81 on the 17th of September. He has raised horses all his life, so I thought this image would be perfect. It is from Create with TLC. I colored it with my Bic Mark It Markers. The buttons are from my stash and all of the cardstock is the Paper Studio.

A Humorous Birthday Card...

Here is a card that I made for my Mom. I just love this image and sentiment, I think it is just too funny!! My Mom did a double take and had to read it again, but she did think it was funny.

For this card I used the image and sentiment from Just Inklined and colored it with my Bic Mark It Markers. The sentiment on the inside is mine. I can't remember the paper line, but I will look and then come back and post. =0)

Can you believe another 2 weeks have flown by again? Well, it has!! And that means it is challenge time again at Penny's. This time around the challenge is "Fall". Birthday Card for my Son...

This Sunday, the 11th of September is a very special day. Not only will it mark the 1oth Anniversary of the devastating tragedy of 9/11/01 but it is also my son's 9th Birthday. He is so in awe of his Dad and swears that he will be joining the Army when he is of legal age. lol So, on Friday I will be taking Army men cupcakes to school and he is planning on dressing the part by wearing his Army camo. It is no surprise that he asked for an Army Birthday card, so this is what I came up with...I can't wait to see his reaction!

For this card I used K & Co. Army Paper. All the sentiments were printed using a stencil font. I inked the edges with CTMH Cocoa ink and the image is Daniel, God Bless America from Fresh Brewed Designs.

An Anniversary Card...

So tomorrow, September 4th my husband and I will celebrate 13 years of marriage. Wow, it is hard to believe that 13 years can go by that quickly. It's crazy!! I'm not sure what we'll do, maybe go out to eat or something. But I did get this card made for him.

For this card, all the papers and cardstock came from CTMH. The buttons are from Hobby Lobby and the ribbon was in my stash. I colored the image with my Bic Mark It markers, with the exception of the skin which I used chalk. The main image is from Inger Harding called My Valentine and you can find it here. The Happy Anniversary circle on the front is from
Senti ments 4 You and the word art on the inside is from Create with TLC.

Halloween Banner Swap...

Hi all!! I thought I would share these banner pieces I made for a swap I am in on 2Peas. When I get the full set back it'll say BOO. I can't wait...It'll be super cute!

This photo...it's gorgeous right?? And you should see the what the DT came up with...Boy were they inspired and their creations are amazing. Please be sure to pop over and have a look and while you're there you might as well play along!!

I used Stef's image Butterflies and Flowers. The butterflies are paper pieced and the rest of the image is colored with color pencils. If you enlarge the photo you can see that there is sparkle in the paper...Just for Stef!! The sentiment is actually a tag that I cut down called Forever & Always from Digi Doodle Shops Best.

A Couple of Recipe Cards...

I just wanted to share a couple of 6 x 6 Recipe Cards. I am making oodles of these right now. I am in quit a few recipe swaps right now on 2Peas. I am planning on giving handmade recipe books and aprons this year for Christmas. So, this is the start of the hundreds of recipe cards I'll be making. =0)

For the first one, it's pretty basic. The paper is from K & Co., cardstock is the Paper Studio, the letters were cut with my Cricut and the jewels are from my stash.

The second one...Cardstock is the Paper Studio, DP ??? (I've had it for years), the image ??? (I can't remember, but if you know, please tell me!! =0) And it was colored with colored pencils.

My first ever Paper Bag Mini...

Caution...Picture Heavy Post!!!

This is my very first Paper Bag Mini Album...And for some reason I chose to make it a gate fold!! I made this for a swap I am in on 2Peas. My swap partner had me make this for her son and he's into all that rock n roll, cross bone kinda thing. I must admit, this is far from my norm but I am really happy with the way it turned out. It has loads of tags and it was really fun to make.

For this album I used "Boys Will Be Boys" by the Paper Studio. Most of the tag pulls are from my stash, the clips and the game spinners are Tim Holtz. The image is from MelonHeadz. The material I used to cover the album is from Wal-Mart and all the hardware used is from my husbands stash...(Ssshh...don't tell him)!!

It just so happened that I am in an altered birdhouse swap on 2Peas, so this project fit perfect. I made 5 of these little Vintage Halloween Birdhouses, I will send 4 in and get 4 different ones back. So, come Halloween I will have a little Haunted Village to set out for decoration! I used my Cricut to cut the letters and then I embellished them with buttons, stickers, etc. I admit, it could be a lot better but I have been so pressed for time lately. With my DH coming home for leave soon (hopefully next week), I have been trying to get so much done that I am just running out of time!! And since it is Christmas time, I wanted to do a few little extra, new things that we don't usually have decoration wise. I'm sure he'll love it, and he won't even realize that it could have been better!! lol =0)

A Birthday Card for My Daughter!

It saddens me to say that my baby will be 5 on the 20th. She is so excited, but me, well I am full of mixed emotions. Where does the time go, it seems just yesterday we were bringing this sweet baby girl home from the hospital. Now she is this little girl with a BIG personality. Truth be told she is 4 going on 16 rather than 4 going on 5. Nevertheless, we can't keep them little forever so I guess I will just have to get over it! =0( So anyway, she is having a My Little Pony birthday party and below is the card made her.

I found the pony image online, I colored it with my Creative Memories marker, papers are from my stash, the chipboard 5 is from SU!, the ink is Blush from CTMH and the sentiments are mine.

I just wanted to share my Christmas Tree!! Hobby Lobby had 50% off their Christmas decorations a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to do a new theme for my tree this year. Hubby is due home right around Christmas so I want to have everything PERFECT!! He's probably going to kill me for buying new decorations...I have too many as it is!! lol

I'm Finally Back!

Finally, it seems like forever since I've been here. As most of you know, my husband is deployed to Afghanistan. He left in May and during the month of June, our Battalion lost numerous soldiers...Double digits! With that said, the stress was beginning to get to me. We have 3 children, 4, 6 & 7 and they were noticing that I was stressed. So, needing a break from life, we packed up and went to visit family for a few weeks. It was a much needed break and I'm happy to say that I am feeling a little better. Please keep the family members of the fallen Soldiers in your prayers.

Okay, now on to a happier note. Before I left I received an award! Gigi from The Cricut Bug gave me a Trendy Blog Award. Thanks Gigi! Sorry I am just now getting it posted.

How about a challenge for the DOGS!

This week at Penny's the challenge is to create something with a dog. Why you ask? Well 55 years ago on June 22 Walt Disney released the classic Lady and the Tramp. So, in honor of that...We wanna see your dogs!

For my card this week I chose to use the image Kolar Remembers from K n' K Designs. I have colored him with Creative Memories markers and chalk. The DP's are K & Co. and the cardstock is from SU!. I must have been pretty tired last night while making this, notice how crooked the inside is? lol Oops! =0) I plan to send this card to my hubby in Afghanistan...he'll never notice!

I made this card to send in my hubby's goody box that I will be mailing him in the next week or so! The image was a freebie from the OWH Bloghop from JessicaLynn Originals, the DP is from K & Co., the card stock CTMH and the stamped sentiment is one that I had in my stash. I colored the digi using Memory Pencils and Baby Oil. It was my first time using that technique and I think it turned out pretty good. I can't take credit for the 'heart u' in the dog tag...I seen that Sandy from OWH had done it to her's and I thought it was just too cute!

My 4 year DD has gotten her first official invite to a Birthday Party that isn't a brother or a cousin! lol She is so excited and has asked me everyday since if it's time for the party. Well, tomorrow is the day...Finally!!! I made this card using Cake Slice from Tuesday Taggers. I colored with Memory Pencils, the inked is Key Lime from CTMH. The paper is Basic Grey and the sentiments are CTMH. The inside reads Make a Wish, the lighting was bad and I could not get a good photo. Sorry! =0(

I just came from Denise's blog Lala's World and she is giving away candy as an incentive to send this little boy some get well wishes. Now, I know that majority of you would do this without the candy incentive but she just want to give a little RAK for your RAK. Here are all the details...

Lennon, who's almost 4 years old has been battling cancer since he was 2 years old.

Lennon's mom Amanda said, "wherever the action is, that's where 3-year-old Lennon will be. Running around outside, playing video games and pretending to be his favorite super hero. He's always laughing, running around giving the nurses a hard time you would never know he was sick." But Lennon is a sick little boy.

Lennon now has multiple tumors on his brain and spine. He will have to begin the fight all over again. Now Lennon's single mother said her only son has a 20-percent chance of survival but they're not giving up.

Amanda said they are taking each day in stride, and even though Lennon's bright-orange hair is gone, his spunk that matches it is still here!! "Lennon's a fighter, so am I. We'll beat it," according to Hunt.

Something fun, funny, upbeat, or just cute would be great. His nana over at http://fablady.blogspot.com/, says he loves getting cards and has offered to have the cards sent to her since Lennon will be getting Chemo next week. She wants to make sure he gets them!

I just love it when I have exciting news to share....Penny from Penny's Creations has chosen me to join her lovely DT. I am so excited! She has such cute digi's to work with. I just know I'll have lots of fun working with her and her team.

Okay, now on to my card...On May 2nd my cousin and his wife had a "big" bouncing little boy. Not kidding, he weighed in at 9.5 lbs. They named him Nathan Charles Andrew Martin II and he is so cute. What was so unique is that they had chosen not to know if he was a boy or a girl. Who does that these days??? Makes it hard for us crafters to get personalized baby gifts done ahead of time! So, that is why I am just now making his card and I am also going to make a mini album to go with it.

On this card I used Baby Elephant from Creations by Penny. Isn't he cute? She has a whole Baby Animals Collection that you can find here. I colored the image with Memory Pencils, my DP, button and Stickease strips are from the CTMH Miracle Collection. The "it's a boy" stamped sentiment is SU and the Congratulations stamp is from my stash.

Flood Relief for Tennessee.

I know many of you have heard about the recent flooding in and around Nashville, TN. There are many people that have lost their homes or worse, their lives. There will be a lot of rebuilding that will have to take place and I wanted to let everyone out there in blogland know of a website you can visit to donate money to help the people of Tennessee.

These photos were taken in Clarksville, TN. My husband is with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. Clarksville is one of the neighboring towns. The local radio stations had a Radiothon today to help raise money for the flood relief. If you would like to donate, please visit The Beaver 100.3. They have their site setup where you can pay directly through PayPal. All money raised will benefit Clarksville local chapters of the American Red Cross and Salvation Army. Thank you for your help.
